$60,000 Dollar Outfit?
ANGEL ALLISONThe Spring 2008 "Step Up Your Style" Winner
$1000 CASH PRIZE
"Thank You to Everyone who came out to support our 1st 2008 installment of STEP UP YOUR STYLE. Wow, what a crowd. Ladies, once again, we were really impressed with a lot of absolutely gorgeous dresses many of you wore. A few we've showcased below that really stood out and had our jaws on the floor.
However, the fashionista that caught our eye and definitely represented the "creative" spirit of STEP UP YOUR STYLE stood out from all the rest. It was very obvious that this girl had put some serious thought and energy into her gear. From head to toe, this girl rocked it with ingenuity and unique style with meticulous detail. She did not rely on one clothing piece to carry her outfit, but an ensemble of creative components that made up an amazing artwork of fashion". (donovansf.com)
After Speaking with Angle tonight I got a better sense of what it takes to really stand out! She estimated that her entire outfit form shoes to makeup costs $60,000 Dollars! "Damn Girl! "
"Everything she wore from Angel's black Chanel Jacket & matching Gloves, to her cute BCBG dress and rockin' Hermes belt, to her Louis Vutton leather purse and attached sable fur (by John Gallano), to her classy Prada shoes, this girl put it together seamlessly. And her accessories (Diamond Studded Rolex Watch & Necklace) added the right touch to finish the outfit off." (donovansf.com)
"Angel epitomized the funky independent spirit of San Francisco and expressed her individuality and creativity in ways that exuded funky sophistication and high-end fashion. This is what STEP UP YOUR STYLE is all about... Dress to Express. Fashion is Art. Paint Your Picture through Clothing.
Thank You to all who participated and showed your support in helping support and cultivate San Francisco's fashion culture."(donovansf.com).
Hopefully, these photos will inspire more people to "STEP UP THEIR STYLE" and put more creative thought and energy into their outfits at our next fashion event. Let's keep pushing the envelope"(donovansf.com).

Democracy 2.0 - The Next Generation of U.S. Leadership and Activists
The American Democracy Institute held it's first leadership forum in 2008 at the Mountain View, Googleplex this weekend. This conference was chalked full of young, hip, and influential activists from all over the United States. The event began with a small pre-party at Circa in San Francisco's Marina District on Friday. Champagne, Lotus Vodka, and some of the best Hors' d'oeuvres I have had in a while (were talking Lobster Corn Dogs). A short speech from Garrett Graff the author of "The First Campaign: Globalization, The Web and the Race of the White House" , started the weekend off with commentary on the surprising success of viral marketing, social networks, email which has led presidential candidates like Barack Obama to raise millions of dollars in just weeks. Not from deep pocketed lobbyists but from concerned and excited individuals and families from all across the country. Garrett planted the idea that we are the change, and our knowledge and use of technology and the internet will greatly change politics forever. Below is a couple video of the guest speakers.

Obama '08 - CHANGE HAPPENS
Yesterday for the I had the chance to vote for the 4th time our great nation's democratic primary election. Yesterday I traded in my non-partisanship for my place in the democratic movement.
I want this nation to be great again, I want this nation to be liked again, I want this nation to be whole again!
Our nation is divided between people who have and have not. People who believe in morals and those who have morals. People who believe that everyone should eat and those who feed the need.
People who believe things should change and those who make change happen.
I believe in change, I want change, and today I voted for change because I am the change!
YES WE CAN, YES I CAN!

A New Sound in San Francisco...
In the summer of 2007 I met Dave Kim an unbelievable BayArea musician. Dave play many instruments, however I have only had the pleasure of seeing him play his Ted Brewer 5 string translucent electric violin which lights up at the white light while he plays! Dave frequently plays with Dj Donovan and adds a new sound to a new flavor of House music.
I have also seen him play with electric guitarist and singer Cris Clouse on a number of occasions, most recently I had to please of shooting David at the 2008 New Years Eve Ball at the Bentley Reserve. Here is a link to the photos...
